Wanna Google like an Expert? &Stop getting so much P*RN?! How to sift thru the Internet’s immense amount of info and get the Info you really NEED and want! Plus leave yourself open to serendipity! VdW will cover the best ways to maximize your Googling and explain how to use Boolean logic to speed up searching and improve hit accuracy. Or just figure out how this whole googling thing works. Specific info-useful sites will be highlighted (wikipedia, flickr, sourceforge, webmonkey, translations).

Valérie d. Walker is a media theorist, digital-experimenter, textile-fibres artist, Natural Indigo Dyer, technical feasibility consultant and adjunct faculty in Computation Arts and Intermedia at Concordia University. She has many years experience in software education, development & design in the high-tech industry and as a consultant. V produces and co-hosts a weekly radio show on CKUT 90.3 FM (www.ckut.ca), The XXFiles, a FemTech openSpace. V has a B.Sci. in Computer Hardware & Software from the Univ. of California – Berkeley (ucb.edu) and an MFA from NSCAD Univ., in Halifax. Currently based in Montréal, V has an active InterMedia & Natural Dyeing practice, writes on cyberCraft, Media & Female Representation, and uses her eco-engineering education to keep her carbon footprint small & green.
