Join Marion Schneider for a presentation of her residency project realized from February 3rd to March 27th. Common Ground is a research-creation project exploring how digital art can become a space for improvisation, shared attention, and collaboration between humans, machines, plants, and mushrooms. At the crossroads between queer ecology, neuroscience, and media arts, it questions the way we conceive of intelligence to operate a decentering of the anthropocentric perspective. This multifaceted project began as part of a residency with UDEM’s gallery, Ivado and neuroscience researcher Karim Jerbi in 2025, then continued as part of a residency at Ada X in winter 2026. The interactive installation will present a symbiotic audiovisual performance tool that jointly uses EEG brain signals (electroencephalograms), bio-signals from lichens and mosses, and local artificial intelligence to generate images and sounds in real time.
