Throughout this training, you will be introduced to the visual programming software TouchDesigner. An amazing toolbox for digital creation, you will have the opportunity to learn to use this software with the goal of creating interactive visuals that react to sound, your presence or to external data.

Through a simplified approach to programming, this workshop is aimed at programmers just as much as visual designers who use digital creation software. We’ll examine the software’s interface, how to create 2D and 3D visuals, and how to make any visual interactive, external or internal to the software. With the goal of  transmitting participants with installation or live performance ideas, examples of use and artists who use TouchDesigner will be presented throughout the workshop.

Objectives :

  • Learn how to create 2D and 3D content in real time.
  • Learn to program visuals that react to data, sound, or a camera.
  • Learn how to plan the technical programming of an interactive audiovisual installation.
  • Understand and explore the various possible applications of the software.
  • Customize the software tools to apply them to your usage.

Overview :

  • Introduction to the software interface and tools.
  • Creation of 2D and 3D real-time visuals.
  • Processing of various external and internal software data for the purpose of interactivity.
  • Customization and creation of your own tools within the software.
  • Theoretical presentation of digital and media art installations using TouchDesigner.

Prerequisites

  • Be an artist, creator or professional cultural worker
  • Commit to being present at all stages of the workshop

Reservation / Payment

Reservations can be done by email at ateliers@ada-x.org. Full payment must be made for the registration to be valid. Payment Options : Zeffy, checque or cash. Registration to a workshop is not transferable.

Cancellation / Refunding

Ada X does not refund inscription fees, except in cases of illness or of force majeure. On such occassions, inscription fees are transferable to another workshop or service offered by the center. Short notice cancellations (14 business days) will not be transferable, nor reimbursed under most circumstances.

Workshop Cancellation

Ada X reserves the right to cancel workshops at any time and without advance notice. In this event, inscription fees are totally refunded.
