In this workshop, participants will build small, sensitive machines designed to help you look after the well-being of your favorite plant. Everyone will have the chance to assemble and customize a robot that alerts you when your plant needs water. Made from recycled cardboard, a humidity sensor, an LED, and a microcontroller (ESP8266), this project—inspired by artist Marion Schneider’s work “Crybot”—will be an opportunity to explore the wonderful world of open-source electronics! Participants will be able to take their sensitive machine home with them. No prerequisites.
Presented as part of Earth Day on April 22, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Sylvain-Garneau Library in partnership with the City of Laval.
