Dannielle Dyson

Dannielle Dyson started her broadcast career shooting Hi8 for CBC and editing on NFB’s first Avid system. She has watched countless documentaries as Director of Programming for the Guelph’s Festival of Moving Media, as well as a film festival programmer for Hot Docs Canadian International Film Festival and Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montreal. While living in Guelph she collaborated with Ed Video Media Arts Center to create a video installation about her Mother’s quilts.Most recently, after discovering Maker culture in NYC she founded the Montreal Mini Maker Faire. The second edition is in the Fall of 2013. Her ambition is to create Maker spaces for families to engage in DIY culture. She is an active resident of Saint Henri, where her current work is inspired by Candy Chang’s “I WIsh This Was” where local residents are encouraged to write their answer, to this question, on papers posted on abandoned buildings along Notre Dame street West.
