Noémie Carrier

Noémie (she/they) is a computational art student at Concordia and an undergraduate fellow at the Textile and Materiality cluster at the Milieux institute, in Tiohtià:ke, Montréal. She previously studied fashion design at Cégep Marie-Victorin and pursued the Fabricademy program, driven by her curiosity about circular, slow, and sustainable fashion. Her artistic interests revolve around the body, nature, and interactive experiences, often incorporating wearable technology into her art. Her time at the fablab Echofab, situated at the intersection of technology and education, has significantly shaped her artistic practice. Currently, her research focuses on how garments and virtual avatars influence identity, particularly at the fascinating crossroads of gender expression and internet culture.
