The HTMlles 11 festival unveils its program!

Enter the universe of #zerofuture

Studio XX is pleased to present the official program of the 11th edition of The HTMlles festival, November 7-15 in Montreal, under the theme: ZÉR0 FUTUR{E}.

This year, the festival recomposes to offer you no less than 40 projects of alternative futurisms. It conveys how “today’s futures” are perceived by different generations, through critical and creative proposals inspired by (but not limited to) afrofuturism, cyberfeminism, feminist science-fiction, and queer futurities. Those events will transport you to a future that is sometimes possible, absent, inert, or critical. Rethink the future from a feminist perspective, through an engaged transdisciplinary vision… this is what The HTMlles promise you this fall!

The HTMlles 11 has invited more than 50 local and international artists, curators and scholars to share their work and visions through eclectic events, set in a multisite configuration. Many of these projects will be presented exclusively and for the first time in Montreal and in Canada. The HTMlles is also collaborating with nearly twenty cultural partners, to bring you this collectively-produced edition, culminating in a forum and expertise sharing.
From November 7 to 15, 2014, the festival will feature:

  • 13 exhibitions, at Studio XX and other partner venues
  • 8 live performances, including musical and experimental installations
  • 7 meetings with local and international artists
  • 1 international conference, co-organized with the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies (IGSF)
