Maryam Pourarya

Maryam Pourarya is a painter and fiber artist, living in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Across mediums, her work deals with concepts of community, personal growth and safety. She is primarily focused on portraiture and still life scenes in domestic spaces. Her interests lie equally in the spaces we compose for ourselves as they do in the persons we aspire to be.

Maryam holds two undergraduate degrees, a BFA in Fibres and Material Practices and a BComm in Accountancy, both from Concordia University. She is currently a CPA candidate studying in Concordia’s graduate diploma program. She joined Ada X’s board of directors as a secretary in November 2024.
