Finissage: À nos prothèses (To our prosthetics) – À nos prothèses collective
September 6, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
At Maison Antoine-Beaudry, 14678 Notre-Dame Street East, Montreal (Quebec) H1A 1W1

The À nos prothèses collective is pleased to invite you to the finissage of their exhibition, À nos prothèses (To our prosthetics) , which seeks to explore relationships of intimacy, conviviality, dispossession, and (in)accessibility to our “ordinary” prosthetics.

The collective has organized a series of workshops, participatory installations, screenings, and rituals centered around our needs, refusals, memories, and stories of prosthetics. This project offers an opportunity to explore questions of inclusion and cultural citizenship of people with disabilities, beyond the lens of accessibility. By focusing their exploration on the question of “we”—Who speaks? Who thinks? Who contributes to the reflection and the reappropriation of prosthetics discussed in this project?—the collective approaches inclusion by concentrating on the conditions of “thought by” and “thought for.” This project is the result of a collaborative effort between 15 artists with diverse disabilities and Ada X, where the collective completed a residency in 2023.

The project is presented as part of the Allo Ada series by Ada X, in collaboration with the Maison de la Culture de Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, and is supported by the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications and the City of Montreal as part of the Entente sur le développement culturel de Montréal.

Remember the exhibition opening?
Since then, the summer has been full of events, and new works have emerged!

The collective is excited to share them with you: multisensory, immersive, and participatory creations — sculpture, photography, painting, installation, augmented and virtual reality — created by 15 artists with diverse disabilities, in French, LSQ (Quebec Sign Language), Braille, English, and Spanish.
