During this workshop, participants will explore a “ghost map” of Montréal that traces former extraction sites across the city. Through a digital excavation and burial exercise, they will uncover – through a screen or a virtual reality headset – different layers of the city’s past and present, bringing personal stories and traces of a forgotten working-class history to the surface.
** Participants are invited to bring a personal item to be placed, once digitized, in the digital environment.
This workshop is presented as part of the Village numérique by MUTEK

The interactive creation Efflorescences montréalaises, integrated into Allo Ada, was created by Natacha Clitandre during a residency at Ada X in the winter of 2026. Composed of layers, the digital environment brings together atmospheric and organic materials, transformed minerals, and industrial artifacts—lingering traces of a bygone past and material remnants of the present.
