i am the metric is an atmospheric digital installation exploring a Montreal that lacks value in the collective imagination through nocturnal liminal spaces, passages and spaces of transit on the edge of certain neighborhoods, where contrasting realities are juxtaposed. The artist acts as a cursor, using technology to capture biometric, environmental, and geolocation data in an effort to preserve the traces of her experiences and identify principles of causality. Through the processing of movement data, its archiving on an independent server, and cross-referencing, the artist asserts her appropriation of non-places and over her agency.
