Vivarium is an interactive story-telling project in virtual reality inspired by amateur fishkeeping. While humans are more and more isolated indoors and looking at the world through screens, the growing trend of owning plants and aquariums seems to indicate a need for connection with tangible nature. Through a digital community built around these hobbies, the audience is invited to question its freedom of choice in a capitalist technocracy.
This artistic residency offer is presented as part of the “Digital Skills for Youth” (DS4Y) Program coordinated by the Independent Media Arts Alliance (AAMI) and funded by the Government of Canada.
