The exhibition Nuances hosts two multisensorial, interactive works by Salima Punjani. A core element of the artist’s work is developing environments to explore connection and belonging. Whether it is translating the narratives of people living with multiple sclerosis or exploring the isolation and resocialization process associated with the COVID-19 pandemic — the artist offers a meeting space that evokes empathy between the participants and the public.

Progression (2018) uses EEG and MRI biodata combined with the vibrational force of sound and tactile portrait technology to explore the stories of people living with multiple sclerosis.

Will you Pass the Salt? (2021) is an interactive piece that combines smell, vibrations, sound, and touch to explore the sounds of ten households in Montreal preparing and sharing a meal, paying tribute to everyday moments of connection.
